A crise nos Estados Unidos está afetando países mundo inteiro. E para os imigrantes que vivem aqui a situação não é diferente. O goiano Willian Marinho, de 30 anos é dog walker em Nova york. Ele conta que já está começando a sentir os efeitos da crise econômica que preocupa os americanos há aproximadamente um ano. “Dois clientes foram demitidos e cancelaram o serviço. Esta perda significou 300 dólares a menos para mim no fim do mês”, diz. Apesar de ter sido atingido diretamente, ele soube como driblar o problema. “Alguns donos diminuiram os passeios e alguns até cancelaram o serviço. A sorte é que sou ágil e consegui logo uns bicos. Então no fim não senti muito o prejuízo. Mas claro que não é a mesma coisa. Não posso dizer que tenho a mesma segurança de quando tinha clientes fixos”, revela o brasileiro.Escolher a profissão não foi muito difícil para o brasileiro. “Nunca fui dog walker no Brasil, mas quando cheguei aqui vi que seria um mercado interessante para explorar. Existem muitos cachorros na cidade e alguém precisa passear com eles não é mesmo? E além de amar animais, descobri que é um jeito fácil de ganhar dinheiro e até mesmo de fugir das crises que possam aparecer”, afirma Willian.
Com a ajuda de doze funcionários, Willian passeia com quase 100 cachorros por dia. “Além de ganhar uma grana fácil, ainda faço exercícios. A desvantagem antes era só o clima. Que no verão é muito quente e no inverno muito frio. Agora tem essa tal de crise assombrando as nossas vidas”, conta. Ele diz que o problema não é só com ele, mas com muitos brasileiros que vivem aqui. “Tenho uma amiga que chegou aqui em janeiro e ainda não conseguiu trabalhar na profissão que ela se formou. De vez enquando faz uns freelas de baby sitter ou de dog walker para poder pagar as contas do mês. Mas ainda não conseguiu nada fixo por aqui. Se com o novo presidente essa situação não melhorar, acho que ela vai voltar para o Brasil”, conclui.
O músico Thalys Peterson Quaresma, de 31 anos, mora em Nova York há apenas 8 meses. Ele diz que veio para os EUA para aprimorar o conhecimento musical, mas quando desembarcou aqui viu que não seria tão fácil quanto pensava. No início teve até que trabalhar em outras áreas para poder sustentar a família aqui. “Além de ter vindo para aperfeiçoar o inglês, o meu objetivo maior sempre foi trabalhar com a música. Mas quando cheguei aqui, em um país em crise, vi que a realidade era outra. Não dava para recusar trabalho, por isso trabalhei em construção e em um restaurante. Rapidamente a música falou mais alto e eu resolvi me dedicar só a ela, que é o que sei fazer melhor”, revela o músico.
Ele conta que aguarda o país sair da crise para poder mensurar com clareza se ele realmente foi atingido. “A única coisa que posso dizer agora e que mesmo com essa crise, consigo receber mais dinheiro do que recebia no Brasil com um emprego formal e a economia de certa forma estabilizada”afirma Thalys.
O músico toca sempre que possível com bandas brasileiras. Não importa se o ritmo é samba, bossa nova ou choro, o que vale conseguir algumas tips mostrando a beleza da música brasileira. E diante da incerteza do futuro dos Estados Unidos, Thalys diz que se vira como pode. “Não sei se a crise afetou diretamente a minha vida, mas como só conheço o país nessa situação, procuro tocar o máximo possível. Até no subway eu tento ganhar uma grana. Até aula particular de violão e outros instrumentos eu estou disposto a dar para melhorar a renda mensal”, diz.

É a maior economia do mundo. Com certeza os americanos irão cobrar uma ação do novo presidente. Eu acredito que ele terá a superação da crise como diretriz principal de seu governo”, revela o músico.
Segundo Thalys, apesar da situação do país, ele está bastante otimista em relação ao futuro. “Pretendo gravar um CD com violão instrumental. Incluindo clássicos da másica brasileira. No subway, sempre procuro as estações com maior movimemento como a Times ou Union Square. As pessoas param para perguntar se eu tenho cd. Isso é gratificante! Acho que a gravação de um cd será uma excelente maneira de divulgar meu trabalho e complementar ainda mais minha renda”, finaliza.
